Starting April 20, customers can buy tickets for One Good Turn, a charity-shopping event scheduled for April 26-27, during which all proceeds will benefit the National Park Foundation. People who make a $5 donation at Macy’s stores or online to http://www.nationalparks.org will receive a ticket, which can be used as a two-day in-store and online shopping pass. It can be redeemed for 20% off most men’s, women’s, kids’ and accessories merchandise and 10% off most home items. Proceeds with benefit the foundation.
On April 22, Earth Day, Macy’s will offer special giveaways and promotions, including a free sampling to the First 100 people in each store. In addition, the First 100 children will receive a National Park Foundation eco-friendly “Kid Power” activity and coloring book. The book includes a coloring contest. Artwork returned to any Macy’s children’s department on April 26 and 27 will receive a “Kid Power” Patch.
Macy’s will also distribute reusable tote bags to the First 150 people who visit its stores on April 26, the start of the charity event. Bags will be sold for $3.95 with $1 of the price benefiting the foundation.
Customers can get involved in Macy’s Earth Week celebrations through two additional activities – a national online sweepstakes and an electronic field trip to Everglades National Park. The sweepstakes grand prize is a new Ford Escape Hybrid car. First, second and third place winners receive a trip for four to our national parks with air travel provided by Alaska Air and car rentals provided by Hertz and its Green Collection.
